Maybe you`ve got an idea for this kind of... deviant art... ;-)

Important Note: Kayla made this picture on her own - as a gift for me. But I think it is good enough to share it on dA.
Nobody objectified her. She just enjoyes wearing my clothes on a photo.

model: Kayla J. Davion ( tigersgirl.deviantart.com )
studio: Heiko Warnke ( www.heiko-warnke.de

Please respect my Stock Rules & have fun. ( phelandavion.deviantart.com/ )

I used part of her here: small-brown-dog.deviantart.com… (hope that is ok)
She was first choice but the character I was trying to get down has just loads of blonde hair and I had another image that I had earmarked for this idea.
However, their are some fantastic image featuring this lovely that I have ideas for. Thanks for offering such fine stock images.

My gosh people, stfu. It's HIS girl. His girlfriend, even his wife! If you don't have girlfriends/wives that would love to tease their boys with lingerie or even be naked in front of them (oh my god!), then maybe you should turn off the computer and go out every once in a while. Or become a monk. Or an eunuch, so you'll never have to feel the terrible, satanic sting of lust again. Jeeez...

Phelan & Tigersgirl - don't listen. Do your thing.
Lass' die Leute reden, und hör' Ihnen nicht zu...

Cosidering everytime I open DA there are a lot of pictures with naked women and men in every possible pose :o (Eek) , I find the objectifing-discussion a little too much in regard to this picture choosen by the model herself.

This said, good shot. The only thing I find it could be better is the background. Perhaps a little more contrast or a different color?
Just a thought.

By the way, great stocks :)

I think this is inappropriate given the issue of sexual harassment in the military. While I know this photo wasn't taken with that in mind, it's like it's showing women in the military are sex objects and not people protecting our country.

Blame people for their actions, not art. If someone sexually harasses a woman it's because that person is an idiot, not because some woman decided to pose in a flight suit. Further, this is NOT an image depicting a sex object. A sex object is a vibrator. A woman is a person. Her posing with some skin showing does not make her a sex object. If you can't look at a woman in a pose that could be seen as sexually evocative without reducing her to an object, that's your problem.

If you are simply concerned that other people cannot look at a sexually evocative image of a woman and see her as a person rather than a sex object, then you're not giving most people enough credit. Sure, there are people who indeed can't (or rather, don't) seem to grasp this simple concept, but those are the people who should be admonished, not the artist. Blaming the artist for the attitudes of sexists is like blaming the person who originally created the swastika for what it came to represent later.

There is nothing about this image that requires one to dismiss the personhood of the model. There is nothing about ANY image, no matter how sexually evocative, that requires the dismissal of the personhood of the model. Requiring women and artists to reign in their sexuality because some people can't reconcile that a woman can be sexual and still be a free, independant, intelligent and strong person is backwards, oppressive, and frankly sexist in it's own right.

Honey . . . I'm a woman. So I'm very confused on you accusing me of lusting after her. :/  And I said this image is inappropriate given the problem we have in our military, I didn't say "you are responsible for all sexism!" I agree that women aren't to be blamed for being objectified - you never blame the victim. But that doesn't mean it isn't insensitive. If you don't feel it is, then good for you. That's your opinion. This is mine.

First, I'm not your honey, so don't patronize me. Second, I never accused you of lusting after her, you just missed the point. The point is that this image isn't objectifying anyone. You are merely seeing it that way, either as a result of a choice or a narrow mind. This image doesn't portray a sex object. It portrays a woman with depth and character like any other person. A woman who's personality and character led her to wanting to create this image.

A woman choosing to be sexual does not reduce her personhood. A woman's sexuality is a part of her personhood, a part she has every right to express in whatever way she wishes. When it's said that an image "objectifies" someone, that is never true. An image doesn't objectify anyone. The objectification occurs in the mind of the viewer.

So, with that in mind, what I said was that if you perceive this as a matter of objectification that is a result of your own shallow perception. You said that this image is "like it's showing women in the military are sex objects and not people protecting our country." What I am telling you is that if you look at this picture and see a sex object, that is your failing, not the artist's. This image does not portray a sex object, it portrays a person who happens to be expressing some sexuality. And that's okay.

As far as insensitivity goes, what I find insensitive is a reaction to sexual harassment that says women should stop expressing their sexuality because it sends some wrong message. As far as I can tell from the description, this particular woman doesn't happen to be in the military, the flight suit belongs to the submitter, who I presume is her husband or boyfriend. Still, do you not think that military women have a sexual side? Military women are just like any other, and while certainly they are brave individuals serving their country, they are also normal people with sexual sides they should feel free to express.

Telling a woman that it is insensitive to express herself in a sexual manner due to sexual harassment is turning that woman into one more victim of the harassers. She is now being told to not do something she'd like to do because of the behavior of harassers. THAT is insensitive.

Just because you are a woman doesn't mean you can't harbor sexist notions and ideals in your head. Any time you suggest that propriety demands a woman suppress or hide away her completely natural sexual expression is a strong indicator you should rethink your opinion.

Yeah, I'm not reading all that. I think people can express their opinions without going into a ranting monologue.

I didn't realize a well reasoned and thorough explanation was a "ranting monologue." I feel sorry for you that a few paragraphs is outside the purview of what you can be expected to digest. It's unfortunate that you are biased and closed minded enough to believe it isn't worth while to entertain opposing viewpoints. That makes you and your opinions incredibly easy to dismiss.

Haha sure, sure. From my experience, people who post super long responses (and 'few' = 3, you know) are just using lots of words to disguise the fact that they have no evidence to back up their viewpoint. And frankly I get tired of debating with people who only want to gripe and not have an intelligent, respectful conversation. I hope you have a merry Christmas all the same.

Also, honey, if you'd done the littlest research into me, like simply looking at my profile, you'd knwo I 'entertain opposing viewpoints' on a weekly basis. I have an open invitation on my profile for debates. So I guess I wasn't wrong in assuming your response was only griping and didn't have research put into it.

If you actually took the time to read my response, you'd know that my point was well reasoned and logically made. But you couldn't be bothered. The post that you couldn't be asked to read? Under 500 words. It wouldn't even qualify as a writing sample for application purposes. It's under half the length of an average blog post. It would take the average adult under two minutes to read. So, you balking at it's length only reflects poorly upon you.

Here's a tip. Next time you can't be bothered to read something, don't then waste your precious time telling everyone. Just ignore it and move on.

Because frankly, you sound illiterate, closed minded, arrogant and obtuse. No intelligent person is intimidated by the length of an argument. Intelligent people don't find reading and thinking to be chores. In fact, most intelligent people prefer an argument to be well defined, thoroughly explained, and well reasoned, which requires some length. I think it likely that you prefer short, simply stated opinions because they are more easily dismissed.

Keep calling people "honey" like you're some wise woman speaking down to a child. Keep spouting hollow platitudes like wishing me a merry Christmas after insulting and disrespecting me, refusing to read what I've written, but proceeding to judge me and my opinions based only on preconceived notions. Do all that, then insist you aren't arrogant or closed minded.  See how that works out for you. People shouldn't have to "research" you to find out you aren't closed minded, arrogant, and dismissive. You should just not come across as closed minded, arrogant, and dismissive in your interactions with others.

The above post was under 300 words. Be sure to take a few minutes out of your day to let me know that you couldn't be bothered to spend under a minute reading.

You make a valid point. human beings are infinitely multidimensional and should never be limited to a single role, i know that. people need to open their mind and their heart if we're  to evolve as a species, change needs to come from within.
